For those who missed out on my Control show in Sydney on Thursday here are some images. It was a big success and tonnes of fun. Looking forward to planning it in The States. Big thank you to DJ champagne hangover, …At Perry Lane and everyone who attended. I can’t wait for another Sydney show.
Today is dedicated to high vis gear and tradies. In Australia most tradespeople wear some kind of high visibility gear as a safety requirement. I wonder if these guys are aware of the increasingly popular fetish that high vis is becoming. Here are some high vis street fashions i found on my travels today.
Recently I’ve been thinking about man and his dog and that emotional dynamic of obedience and loyalty. This sculpture I came across spurred me to think of sharing this collection of photographs of guys with their best friend. I think there is something attractive that dogs bring out in people, maybe happiness and love.
Today at the Art Gallery of New South Wales i was particularly attracted to the work of this young student Eva Velevska at Artexpress. Titled A personal blueprint, this piece is reminiscent of my favorite Henri Matisse painting in the MOMA in NYC, The Red Studio.
A selection of images i took today of Zac from EMG.
Sightseeing around sydney with a sydney first-timer.
Today i woke up to a cardboard a frame on top of a car proclaiming ‘make an offer’. Thinking about possession and the way people live i decided to tell a story with pictures about the Victoria street backpackers and how they have turned this beautiful street into an unofficial used car dealership. They all seemed pretty nervous when i started shooting their cars and i hoped at first that it would encourage them to leave since I and probably everyone else living in this area can never find a park here. But as i met car after car of traveller i realized how amazing each one of them was and became quite interested in some of the huge journeys they had made all over the country. So i encourage more of you to come, visit and enjoy Australia and while you are here please come and buy up all these cars so that i can find a park.
